Important Check Ups and an Annoucement

First of all I need to thank Kat for reminding me to call and get my yearly appointment for my mammogram. I have the utmost respect for these women who are fighting this disease or have fought it. And Kat is a breast cancer survivor. If you have a chance go over to her site today and send her blessings. I got to know some of these women who are fighting breast cancer this year when I was being treated for anemia. I had my treatments in the same room as they were having their treatments and I have to tell you that not once did I hear anyone of them feeling sorry for themselves. Oh, I'm sure they had their moments, but to me they all appeared to be brave. A few did tell me their stories and some of them had skipped a yearly mammogram because they were too busy or life got in the way. So please don't skip this important piece of your health. Also this brings me to another point, if you are over 50, have a colonoscopy. I was forced into it because of the anemia thing by my doctor and I'm not going to lie to you, the prep's not fun but the procedure is a piece of cake (well kind of). Also when I was going for my anemia treatments I met a woman who had colon cancer and she had a bunch of symptoms which she ignored. So please have these important procedures.
Okay, this is a complete change of subject, but one I just can't keep to myself anymore. And anyway, my granddaughter Maddie has announced it on her blog. Yes, Maddie has her own blog and it's password coded so if you just can't get enough Maddie on my blog, LOL, just e-mail me and I'll send you the code. That is if I don't think you're some whacko out there in blogland, again LOL. Anyhoo, it takes me a long time to get to my point, doesn't it? Okay, why do I have a picture of three sleepers that I brought back from Alaska? One's for Maddie and the other two are for our two new grandbabies who are going to arrive this coming spring. Maddie is getting a baby brother or sister in May and my son will be a first time daddy in March. I wasn't sure if either set of parents wanted me to announce it yet but I couldn't hold it in any longer. Our family is growing and we love it! Also click on the sleepers and see how cute they are. They are from a company called Hatley, which I had never seen before. Honestly, they have quality stuff and it's so cute. I don't know if they just sell in stores in the Northwest or what but if your looking for some different Christmas stuff go here to their site. They also have adult clothes, I thought their PJ's looked very comfy. If you made it this far in the post, I'm amazed but appreciate it. Thanks and I'll try to keep my post shorter next time! :-)

Joan I love your posts. They bounce from subject to subject just like thoughts do in anyone's head. You type as you would talk and that's more like having a conversation, in my opinion. I love it!

Ok, I'm going to check out Hatley now. I like the idea of different Christmas gifts.

Love,
Julie

Hmm... I wonder which outfit is for Madison, the amazing little girl who seems to survive on little to no sleep... haha!

Love you, Aunt Joan!

Hi Joan, Great reminder for both the mammogram and colonoscopy. There are just too many women out there with breast cancer. Walking for breast cancer every year is such a great experience. There are two courageous women from our church who are fighting this disease and they are simply awesome! Since I will be 50 this year, I guess I'll have to look into getting that colonoscopy done. This is not something I'm looking forward to, but know I'll have to have it some time.

Thanks for the reminder! I'm so cheap though that I always know to arrange my mammo by December. That's when I usually have all my "work" done because the odds are higher that I've already met my deductable by then. lol I know. It makes no sense, but that's just me.
Love the jammies and I'm so thrilled for you! We're expecting another grandchild in May. We're really nervous but excited. I can't wait to see how you handle THREE grandkids! lol And yes, you must send me Maddie's blog thingy! I'm not a sicko or a weirdo, I swear. Well, I'm FOR SURE not a sicko! (Come on...you KNOW me! A person who loves Johnny Bench MUST be normal, right?)
