Joni from Just Joni is our hostess for Brenda's Photo Challenge today. She has picked the theme of orange for the challenge and I thought this was a fun challenge. I know I always say that but I really enjoy picking out photos for each of the challenges. I have a list on my sidebar for everyone that I know who is playing but go over to Joni's just in case I missed someone. Here are my three photos. Thanks Joni !
My first photo is when I was at Hilton Head Island a few weeks back and I couldn't sleep all night so I got up and went down to the beach and watched the sunrise. It was so beautiful and there was more orange in person then it shows in this photo. I took a bunch of photos and the sun itself was an orange color as it was coming up over the horizon. I have watched lots of sunsets but sunrises are spectacular!!
My second photo was on the same early morning as the first. The Koi fish were waiting to be fed as I walked back to the condo. They are so pretty and colorful. Click on either photo to see it better.
And this last photo I just took a few days ago. This was so funny because first I couldn't remember what this flower was called and I seen these flowers in so many yards as I was driving along but didn't think anyone would appreciate me pulling in their driveway to take some photos. So the other day I was meeting my Dad for lunch and I see this field full of these flowers, so I quickly pulled over and whipped out my camera and took this photo. And then after lunch I went to Krogers and what do I see there? Lots of pretty orange flowers that look just like this and they are called Daylilies. Hey, I knew that. LOL But I decided not to take photos of the Krogers flowers and keep my field one. I can't wait to see everyone's photos. Have a good one!!

Love your pictures Joan. That sunrise is beautiful, the only good thing about being up that early is the spectacular view you get. Koi are such a beautiful shade of orange and I just love daylilies. Enjoyed seeing your choices.
A great collection of orange shots, Joan. My favourite is... well I just can't decide between the sunrise and the koi. The sunrise, I think, because it's one of those things that you would rarely see, how many of us aren't sleeping when the sun comes up?
Like I said yesterday, your choice of the Koi fish is INSPIRED. They are so beautiful - a truly vibrant shade of orange.
The sunrise is beautiful. Almost makes me want to get out of bed earlier. lol Well - seriously - it makes me want to head to the east coast and sit on the beach so that I can see that sort of sunrise for myself!
And the daylilies, always a favorite. My step-mother gave me a clump of them a couple of years ago. Those things will grow and multiply like crazy - with no work required from me. My kind of plant. lol And your picture of the daylily is pretty, pretty, pretty.
I enjoyed participating in the challenge. Thanks for the encouragement!
Kari

What a beautiful sunrise!! You did a great job finding orange in your world! It's so much fun to see what you came up with.
Great photos! Love them all! That is a "natural" daylily, and you see them by the sides of country roads. We have a terrific assortment of hybrid daylilies. See the photos on my blog!
Gorgeous sunrise :)
Cute fishies too! I stumble on the names of familiar flowers too. On my blog I called Lilacs, lavender and then had to correct it. I'm such a dork LOL
Have a great day!!

Hello Joan, indeed day lilies and sometimes you'll see shorter versions of them, in more formal areas, called Stelidoris (sp?). Very hardy, deer dont eat them which is a problem where I live, and they bloom forever! Lovely photos.
Daylilies are one of my favorite flowers. They do come in all kinds of colrs, but the orange are the most prevalent. I have them in bright double yellow and burgundy and red. Great photos.
Love your pictures!! Especially because at this time next week - we will be on our way to HHI! So excited!!!
Those flower sort of look like Tiger Lilies. They grow in ditches along country roads. So pretty.
Lovely pictures. Sunrise is a lovely time. Pity I don't see them that often.

Dang, woman! I thought I'd clicked into the wrong blog! lol Your new background is so YOU - (Summer Maniac!) It actually looks very cool and refreshing. I like it. I was thinking about changing mine, but I've been too lazy. (It's the excessive heat, you know) :)

Alfred wants to build a koi pond in our yard. :) Very pretty pictures!
love your orange photos...very clever combination...
Love your photos. Sunrises are much more special - maybe because we don't see them as often as sunsets.
I was a little late posting my photos. Hope that you have a chance to visit.
