Beach Houses and Bathtubs

I took these beach house photos today to show you some of the beautiful homes that sit on the beach here in Hilton Head. I find some of them so interesting. If you click on the photos you can see the big new houses with the older beach homes next to them. Some of these new homes are huge. So pretty and wouldn't it be so nice to live in one of these and look at the beach everyday? Don't you just love the sand dunes also?

And I guess you are wondering why is this crazy lady posting pictures of bathtubs? Well, this is a little piece of heaven to me. There are three big giant tubs in this place we are staying. Now why is this such a big deal to me? Because at my home I have a bathtub that would only fit a ten year old. Our home was built in the 70's and I guess they didn't put in double vanities and big tubs and all that fun stuff. So this is what I look forward to each time we come here, taking long bubble baths. I have some back "issues" and I swear my back feels better after soaking in one of these tubs. So I was wondering if any of you have wonderful tubs that you would want to post a picture of so I can be envious, sorry I mean happy for you. Anyway, we are heading to Charleston, South Carolina tomorrow to have lunch with my sweet niece who lives there. I hope to get some great pictures of the old city and I'll post Charleston for Travel Tuesday this week. If you haven't been there, you are going to love this city. It's one of my all time favorite. I know I say that alot but it really is. But remember we have a one year old with us so everything could change if she has a meltdown.

Safe Travels,

Joan

Joan - I posted a picture of my bathtub back in July. Here's the link, but if you can't just click on it or even copy and paste it, it's under the "decorating" label on the left of my blog and when all those posts come up, it's about halfway down. Hope that made sense. lol

Anywho, even I - the most unlikely beach fanatic in the world - love those beach houses. I used to go out to Dauphin Island (south of Mobile, Alabama) in the Gulf of Mexico years and years ago. There is something so summery nice about being near the salt water. Maybe after menopause is done wringing me out until I'm nothing but a shadow of my former bubbly self, I'll be able to rediscover my liking for the salt air. For for now....nah...I just can't do it! But I'm glad you're having such a great time!

Ooooh, Joan! What a wonderful place to be! Thank you for sharing the photos! I can just about smell the sand in the warm sun, and the salt from the water!

We lived for 6 weeks along the beaches of the Caribbean and while it was beautiful to look at and the sound of the ocean was calming to listen to - the salty sea water eroded almost everything in site. We quickly learned that paradise is a relative term.

Dropping over from Kari's place to say Hi and congrats on the Smile award!

I visited Destin Fl in 2005 and saw houses like this beachside...made me green with jealousy...I get tired of being a "have not"...lol!

I soaked in a tub like that once at a bed and breakfast...I felt just like a noodle that had been boiled to death afterward but it was all good!

Nice to meet ya!

Hi, I am new to the blog world, but am having a great time finding all these interesting people!

I just wanted to comment and say that we are Hilton Head lovers here too! We have been coming every year for our 6 years now. We stay in Sea Pines always. Our last home was on South Beach Lane and it was incredible! I put a few HHI photos on my blog as well. Hope you had/have a great time!
