Being a Grandma

Becoming a grandmother is marvelously simple, filling our hearts with uncomplicated happiness and our wallets with shameless numbers of photographs. In our relationships with our grandchildren there are fewer obligations and more enjoyment, fewer expectations and more acceptance, fewer lessons and a lot more laughter, fewer vegetables and more dessert. It's delicious being a grandparent. Being a grandparent, which I've heard described as "parenthood one step removed," turns out, more precisely, to be parenthood one blissful step removed.

I found this in Ladies Home Journal. It was written by Judith Viorst and she is coming out with a book called Alexander and the Wonderful, Marvelous, Excellent, Terrific Ninety Days. This was taken from that book. I love how she described being a grandparent and I couldn't have said anything better or add anything to it. Thanks Judith!

Safe Travels,

Joan

I guess it's like getting the best of both worlds. Having fun and playing and then sending them back when they're tired and cranky. Have fun with your grandchildren, Joan!

Love it! There's just nothing quite like being a grandmother, or a MeMe, which is what I'm called. I love each and everyone of mine...all 9 of them.

Hugs!
