Happy Monday that's really a Tuesday!!

I love the first holiday of the Summer, I really do.  Yea, I know it's not officially Summer yet but in my mind Summer starts on Memorial Day and ends on Labor Day.  So we celebrated both the holiday and my oldest daughter, Melissa's birthday.
Girls outnumber the boys in our family...LOL
This is Savannah's face after going in the pool for the first time this year...pure joy!!
And these two bunnies kept us entertained all day. They were playing and chasing each other the whole day long.  I've never seen bunnies do that before.
We had cake and ice cream and I had forgot to get candles for the cake so I searched in all my drawers until I found some and when Melissa went to blow them out they kept lighting back up.  haha..I forgot I even had those trick candles!!
And I tried this form of exercise this weekend.  It's called a TRX.  We do intervals of spin bike and than floor work.  It's harder than it looks and I am sore today!!  But it's a good sore!!  And we got to spend some time with my niece Stephanie.  I miss her since she moved to Nashville!  So how was your weekend and what did you do?  Happy Monday that's really a Tuesday!!  :-)

Christmas ~~ 2010

I've spent the past few days taking down all the Christmas decorations but am just getting to posting about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I usually take everything down right after the holiday but I have loved my outdoor tree so much and it's still in great shape(it's been frozen) that I thought I would decorate it with hearts and red for Valentine's Day! Haha....I thought the grands would get a kick out of it. I don't think it'll last for St.Patricks Day or Easter.....ha! Though that would be fun to have a tree for every holiday...maybe I'll plant a little pine out back for the kids to decorate......
Here's a few pics from my holiday! The girls made a Happy Birthday Jesus cake and decorated it. They said Jesus really likes sprinkles so they put alot(the whole bottle) on the cake. :-)
This photo is funny because they got so many toys but the game they wanted to play the most with everyone was restaurant. What's restaurant? Well, the girls ask you what you want to eat and than they pretend to write down your order and throw you pretend food. Yep, they throw it to you....Ha! And I always catch it and say it's wonderful.......

The last few are of Christmas Eve at my sister's house. Maddie and I were having fun and Maddie and Sydney were waiting for Great Grandpa(my Dad) to give out presents! I had a nice Christmas and still have one to celebrate with Cameron this weekend!! I hope everyone had a great one and I'll try to make it back before the new year but if I don't- Happy New Year!!!

This is my life right now............grandkids.....family....being blessed with good friends..... a job I like and for this month of November which we usually associate with being thankful....I'm TRYING to concentrate on what I have to be thankful for and not what I don't have. I'm THANKFUL for all of my blogging friends!!! What are you thankful for in your life right now?

Easter ~ 2009

Good Monday morning! I hope everyone had a great Easter. We had a very nice one here in Cincinnati. It was sunny but a little chilly which isn't unusual for Easter in Cincinnati. My Dad took us all out for brunch at a local golf club and our family came back to our house for an Easter egg hunt and honeybaked turkey. A few members of our family were missing this year but all in all we had a wonderful day.

So I made this collage in Picnik(which took forever to upload)instead of putting a bunch of photos up. Starting at the top left and moving around the collage, the first photo is of two of my favorite guys, my sweetie and our son Jim, the second photo is my sister Gail and her son Andrew and of course the Easter bunny. Everytime that bunny came near Maddie or Sydney, they would both start to cry, so no photos of them with the bunny. LOL The third photo is of my Dad's table with my sister's in laws and the next photo is my niece Allison and Maddie. Going down the collage on the right is Papa giving Maddie pointers on Easter egg hunting(I kid you not, he really was giving her tips on what to do). LOL The next one is Maddie collecting the Easter eggs during the hunt. Maddie was nice enough to give Sydney an egg. And going around the collage on the bottom is Gommy(me) and Papa and Sydney, with Maddie and her Daddy in the background. And the next three are just a few more of the Easter egg hunt and the last photo is of Sydney all worn out from Easter! Okay, did you follow all of that? LOL

Anyway, hope you all had a wonderful Easter and have a great week! We are heading to Hilton Head later this week so I'll blog more about that later in the week. It's chilly and rainy("rainy days and mondays always get me down", that's a song for anyone who remembers it and it will now be in your head for the rest of the day) here today so it's a good day to catch up with lots of work around the house. Happy Monday!

More of Christmas - 2008

i am going to get you for this momI have named these photos "how to tick off your cat in two easy steps." First put some silly Christmas pet thingy around her neck and then take a bunch of photos of her. These are two different photos but they look the same because she has this I am really bored and getting ticked off about this look. Don't worry Cleo, this pet Christmas thingy is going in storage today. LOL

i just threw up on the white couch on purpose

i love you sweet sydney

And it was pretty outside this weekend! Sydney(aka SAS) came over to Grandma's on Saturday while Mommy and Maddie went to meet some friends. I never get Sydney time all by myself so it was fun lovin' on her exclusively. It was so pretty outside that we took a walk. We both have bad head colds so I thought the fresh air might be good for us both.

Sydney loved being outside. All of the neighbors were out also because we just don't see 70 degree weather the end of December. Isn't Sydney just the sweetest little thing??

You really didn't think I was going to let Christmas go by with only one photo did you? LOL So here's a few more. I was having some fun on Snapfish with their borders.

Maddie had so much fun opening up gifts. These are really Sydney's toys but since Sydney didn't care one way or the other, Maddie was so happy to open them for her.

i need to get back to weight watchers
This is me, Cameron and my sweetie Christmas Eve morning when we all went out for breakfast. I really enjoyed this time, probably because I didn't have to do any work. LOL I hope we do this again next year. hint hint........

i don't think i've seen this in my living room before
You mean you don't have someone doing this in your home on Christmas Day? LOL This is Troy(our daughter Christina's boyfriend) and my sweetie. Troy is a physical therapist and he brought his equipment to evaluate my sweetie's shoulder. Sweetie has been having alot of pain in both shoulders and has some kind of problem and will have to go and see a doctor soon. I'll probably have to drag him there. LOL

i love butter
Miss Maddie enjoying every bit of her toast when we went out to eat breakfast Christmas Eve. I think she liked licking the butter off of it the best.

next time get batteries grams
Here's Maddie and her new Fisher Price digital camera(and it's pink). I was so excited about giving her this gift that I forgot to pick up the AAA batteries that the camera needed to work. LOL We took a few from other things in the house so she had a ball taking photos. Everytime she took a picture she would look at the screen and say "wow."

My sweetie and our grandson Cameron and our son Jim at breakfast Christmas Eve. Did I already say how much I enjoyed breakfast?? :-)

my wonderful dad and his family
And my Dad with all of his grandchildren and most of his great grandchildren. It is really hard to get a decent photo of this many people at one time.

i love to read and hope my grandbabies will also
And this last photo is of our son Jim and grandson Cameron with a book that Grandma and Papa gave him. We are getting each grandbaby a hardcover book every Christmas and write in the cover the year, a message etc..... I hope to pass down my love of reading to our grandchildren. Can you believe it's almost 2009??? I look at that number and just can't believe it. Well, I have a ton of errands to run today so I better get movin'. Have a good one! Oh and some of my photos have captions today.

Christmas 2008

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Ours was filled with family, babies and good food. I am still going through all of my photos and will post more later. I took about a million, mostly of the babies(big surprise, LOL). We took this family photo last night, this is all three of our kids and our son-in-law and all three grandbabies. Little Sas was all worn out from too much Christmas. Having little ones around makes Christmas so much fun. I usually take the tree down today(it's real and has been up since Thanksgiving, which means it's dead) but I don't feel like doing that today. So I am just going to rest and get a few things done around the house. I got my sweetie one of those digital photo frames for his desk at work so I am going to try and load it up with photos for him today. Have a good one and guess what, Cincinnati might hit a record high temperature tomorrow. We are suppose to make it to the 70's. Woohoo!! Wish that weather would stay all winter. Well, a girl can wish, can't she??? LOL

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

These three little guys(our grandbabies) are going to put the FUN in Christmas this year. And to think that last year, Maddie was the only one here to enjoy all the fun. Amazing what a new year brings and we have been very blessed to have not one but two new grandbabies in 2008. I know the real little ones won't be into it all just yet but Maddie loves Christmas and everything that has to do with it. I need to get a photo of Cameron with his red sparkle hat(I got it and posted it above) in the next few days and if I am lucky(and that's a real big if) I will get a photo of all three of them with their Santa hats on. LOL

Tomorrow starts off with going out for breakfast with our kids and son-in-law and grandkids and then back to our house so Cameron can open his gifts from Grams and Papa because we won't see him until later Christmas Day and then off to my sister Gail's house for dinner to celebrate with my family and then off to my sweetie's side of the family to see all of his cousins and aunts and uncles. And then on Christmas morning we celebrate Christmas with our family and then we have our annual open house. So I should fall over about 5pm on Christmas Day. LOL

But I am hoping to have some quiet time early Christmas morning. My sweetie and I have gone for walks early on Christmas Day at the park up the street. We get up early. And before all the busy stuff of the day starts I like to take some time and think about the gift God gave us in the form of a little baby so long ago. When our kids were little and they came downstairs on Christmas morning and before they would open their presents my sweetie would read Luke 2 to them(not the whole thing but the part of Christ's birth). So I'll leave you with that part of Luke because that is why we celebrate Christmas and with all that's going on this time of year I don't ever want to forget that. Merry Christmas!

AND BEHOLD, AN ANGEL OF THE LORD STOOD OVER THEM AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD SHONE AROUND THEM AND THEY WERE GREATLY AFRAID.

THEN THE ANGEL SAID TO THEM "DO NOT BE AFRAID, FOR BEHOLD, I BRING YOU GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY, WHICH WILL BE TO ALL PEOPLE"

FOR THERE IS BORN TO YOU THIS DAY IN THE CITY OF DAVID A SAVIOR, WHO IS CHRIST THE LORD.

AND THIS WILL BE A SIGN TO YOU, YOU WLL FIND THE BABE WRAPPED IN SWADDLING CLOTHES, LYING IN A MANGER

AND SUDDENLY THERE WAS WITH THE ANGEL A MULTITUDE OF THE HEAVENLY HOSTS PRAISING GOD AND SAYING

GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST

AND ON EARTH PEACE, GOODWILL TOWARD MEN.

Shop Till You Drop!

This is what you do when you have had enough Christmas shopping. LOL Maddie went Christmas shopping with us this past weekend and since we were going around in circles and couldn't make a decision she decided to hop in one of the display beds at Macy's. She jumped in and pulled the covers over her head and said night, night and then proceeded to act like she was snoring.

night night maddie I really can't blame her, the sheets were flannel and so soft and warm and it was getting pretty boring waiting for Grandma and Papa to decide what to get our kids and son-in-law. But right after this we found the perfect gift for all the kids, I am actually pretty excited about it. My sweetie and I both looked at each other after we seen it and said that's the perfect gift! Can't say what it is because some of our children actually read Joan's Journeys(and they tease me sometimes, not that I am going to name any names or anything). LOL I think I am done with all the Christmas shopping, we just need to get the food for Christmas Day. So maybe I'll just go take a nap in some nice cozy flannel sheets(but I don't have any)! Have a good day!

i thought you were sleeping maddie

The Rockettes!!

My girls and I went to see the Radio City Rockettes on Saturday. We had so much fun that we have decided to do this every year at Christmas. The look on Maddie's face as she watched the show was priceless, she literally did not move from her chair for an hour and a half. All of my photos of her sitting there were way too dark but here are a few. This was my first time to see the show and it's a fun show!

pretty little sasHere's Aunt TeeTee(Christina) and Sas. Even little Sas loved all of the lights and music.

twirling maddie Here's Maddie in her twirly Santa dress. She loves this little dress so much, we all ooh and aahh when she wears it and she twirls around in it and shows us how pretty it is.

silly grandma This is just Grandma(me) being silly. I tried to take a photo of Maddie and I in the reflection of the door but she decided to move and I must have forgot I had the flash on. LOL

three pretty gals Here's Christina(Aunt Tee Tee), Sas and Mommy(Melissa).

they had live animals I loved the part of the show that told the Christmas story. They even had live animals. It was pretty cool.
this was one of my favorite parts of the show
The wooden soldiers were great. They had everything timed just perfect. It was pretty amazing.

if only i could do this
If only I could get my legs do this. LOL I wonder how many calories these gals burn off each show. It really was a wonderful show and I came away with great memories of little Maddie just sitting there so happy and excited to see it all. I hope everyone is having a great week. I am trying to get organized for Christmas but I somehow started working on a project cleaning out my old photos and putting them in boxes instead of just having them thrown anywhere. Now why I started this just a few weeks before Christmas is beyond me, but since they are spread out all across our pool table and I figure someone might actually want to play pool on Christmas day, I really need to finish it. My problem is I am finding photos from 30 years ago or more and I just have to stop and look at them. I'll probably share more of these old photos as I go through them. I have all these old Polaroid(do they even have polaroid cameras anymore??) ones which I want to scan in my computer. I guess I better get back to work on them today instead of playing on my computer. LOL Have a good one!!
