Well, today's the big day. I got up early thinking I might avoid crowds and boy was I wrong, the polls opened at 630am in Ohio and the line was long when my sweetie and I got there. I threw on some clothes and sandals which was clearly the wrong choice for waiting outside on a November morning in Ohio. LOL I've never had to wait when voting so I am hoping that's a good sign. Anyway, I seen these at the Gap store at the mall and thought they were cute, especially the vote for Grandma one. I think the Grandmas of the country might do a pretty good job if given the chance. Anyway, just go and vote.
Okay let's go on to fun things, like jewelry making. My sister Judy and I took a class last week making these beautiful crystal heart necklaces. I hope you can see the detail in this because this was about the hardest thing I've ever made. This necklace took around three hours to make, my eyes were burning. It's a process of criss crossing and weaving and counting, believe me it was not easy. I am going to wear this baby all the time, I'll wear it when it doesn't match anything else I am wearing because of all the work I put into it. By the 2 1/2 hour point I was ready to hand it over to the instructor and pay her money to finish it for me. LOL But isn't she a beauty? I am not sure I'll try making this on my own but I do love it and will wear it proudly. I also learned how to make earrings and have been practicing that alot. I am doing okay but need to have a cleaner look to the finish product. This is a fun hobby! Happy voting day and Starbucks is giving a tall cup of brewed coffee to anyone who comes in today and tells them you voted. Woohoo free coffee!! Make that a pumpkin spice latte and I'm there............

I'm gonna get dressed shortly and head to the polls.
What a beautiful necklace! I love it.
I am sure the most of America is exited today. Even in Norway TV and radio follows the election.
We can hear and see the whole night, if we like.
I do have nothing to say about the election, but may the best candidate win!
Beautiful necklace! I have been wanting to take a jewelry making class. I bet it was fun to take it with your sister!
From the looks of things on the news this morning, I am glad I voted early!

Hi Joan, love the vote for grandma.
We voted early 2 weeks ago and only waited 35 minutes.
You did a wonderful job with the necklace. WOW is it ever pretty. So much detail. I can imagine that was hard to do, but you did it and it is gorgeous.
Thanks for stopping by, always great to see you. Have a great week.

Oh my gosh, that necklace is beautiful!!! You should be so proud of yourself.
I've taken the keychain you made me and attached it to the outside of my purse (I'm scared to death I'll break it if I keep it with my actual keys. lol). It adds a wonderful, festive sparkle to my purse. Every time I see it, I think of you and think how lucky I am that you thought of me with it!!

You already know how much I love that necklace! It's so beautiful!
What time did you guys get to the polls? I think you left around 7:15 or so? I can't remember what time it was when I saw you leaving, I was trying to sleep standing up. ;) We got there just after 6:30, and I voted at 7:42. Ugh! Glad I did it though.
Hi Joan,
I had a great time making that necklace, but have yet to wear it. I am bringing it with me to Chicago this weekend so I will be sure to wear it then. It was very complicated to make but the final product sure is pretty.
