Brenda's Photo Challenge

Karen from Faith of a Single Mom is our hostess for Brenda's Photo Challenge today. The theme is PATRIOTISM or WHAT I LOVE ABOUT MY COUNTRY. This was a great choice of a theme and one that was very thought provoking. Thanks Karen!!

My first photo is of course our flag, an obvious choice I know but I can't think of our country without thinking of our great flag.

My next choice of photos comes under the heading of what I love about our country. I love that we have the freedom to worship our God. That is why I picked this church, it is indeed one of our great freedoms. This church is on the grounds of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. I was there awhile back for my nephew's wedding. Beautiful church and a beautiful place to see.
These next two photos are of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. I picked these photos from my photos because these men (and all of the men and women who serve) show the ultimate patriotism. They are willing to give their lives for our country and to protect us. When you go to see this, it really hits you of what they have given to us. In this case I posted the fourth picture because my sweetie's cousin was one of the guys whose name is on that wall, on the bottom left hand corner of my last photo. I have a list on my sidebar of everyone playing but I think I may need to update it so go over to Karen's for an updated list. Have a great weekend!!

Wonderful photos, each and every one! I especially love the one of the church, Freedom of Religion I believe is one of our most wonderful freedoms.

Great photos! We have a wall here, too, but I haven't been down there lately to take photos. You are right, it certainly has an impact.

Oh my, stunning photos! I love the beauty of the Naval Academy at Annapolis. And the Vietnam memorial in D.C. is powerful and a quiet reminder of our freedom's cost. God bless your sweetie's cousin for his sacrifice.

Love your photos. Nearly every country town here in Australia has a memorial to those fallen or fought in wars. I hadn't thought to take a picture of them though.

Great pictures, Joan. Truly great. You already know how I feel about our military so I won't even go there. Suffice it to say, I love reading your thoughts and I appreciate what you've said.

I love your photo choices! Excellent.

And I love the Sydney smile photos. So dang cute!

And what a sweetie, that Cameron getting baptized looks like a special day, and it looks like he was being so good.

That church window was sooooooooo pretty and I love that it wasn't dark inside the church. The wall even looks bright. Great photo!
