Travel Tuesday ~ Dinner in the Clouds ~ Europe and South Africa

Okay, so technically this is really not about one destination like I usually do for Travel Tuesday but this was so unique I couldn't pass it by without a mention. This is the ultimate in a dining experience offered by a company called Dinner in the Sky. They offer a six course meal served by a chef and three waiters on a platform suspended 160 feet above the ground by a crane. It looks to me like everyone is wearing some kind of seat belts but I'm not sure if that would make me feel okay about having a meal like this. I read in a magazine that for a seating of 22 it costs around $38,000 and that includes wine. It certainly is different and they do it in different areas of Europe and Dubai and South Africa. I'm not sure if I could do this. What do you think bloggers, if money was not an issue would you be game for this? I bet the view is fantastic. My sweetie has a good point though when I showed him this article. He said what happens if you need to use the restroom? My sweetie always likes to point out stuff like that. LOL Anyway, this is not technically a destination Travel Tuesday but more of something unique to do in certain destinations. Have a great Tuesday and hopefully I didn't give anyone any vertigo. :-) I told you it was out there...........or should I say up there?

That is so cool...but no, not for me. First off, I am terrified of heights so it would freak me out and I would need a TON of wine.

Which leads me to the second issue...yeah as soon as that thing was up high I would immediately feel the need to use the bathroom! Just knowing I couldn't without creating a HUGE scene would drive me crazy!

Very cool Travel Tuesday though!!!! So interesting!

Ahile ago I was sent pictures similar to yours in email and I didn't think it was real! I guess it is, but it's not my cup of tea (don't like heights). Great idea for a Travel Tuesday!

I have to agree with the other posts. I am very afraid of heights and that would not appeal to me in the least but I know there are people out there who would see this as a fun challenge. To each his own. I'll stay on the ground when I dine.

Hugs,
LeAnn :)

If money were not an issue I would go for it. But there are too many people involved. I prefer to have my fine dining experience with one other person... my beloved spouse. So if they would do a dinner party for two - sure.. why not?

Interesting - but totally BONKERS!!!
I agree with your other half - what a bout a rest room break?

I don't like the idea of being suspended like that. The views are wonderful but I'd rather have some solid ground under my feet!

Great post. Over from David's.

Woah, that's crazy!!!!!! I am not usually afraid of heights, but I have a feeling that would make me a bit woozy in the beginning. I really think I would be able to enjoy it though...can you imagine being able to eat dinner like that?!!? So much $$$$.... yikes.
