Butterfly Show and Meeting Great Gramps

We had a busy day yesterday. First we took my granddaughter Maddie to the butterfly show along with every person over 90 and every kid under 4 in the city. It was really crowded, Maddie loved the butterflies but was not too crazy about the crowds. It is so cool to see all of these creatures, they are so pretty. Here's a few shots of some of them.

I loved this blue butterfly and I kept trying to get him to land on my hand but he would have none of it, he wanted to go to the flowers. But isn't he so pretty

And I had to take this photo of the clock outside of the Conservatory, it really works. It's beautiful with all of the flowers surrounding it.

Here's another little guy trying to hide from people.
And since we couldn't get a shot of a butterfly on Maddie this time, I had to get one of her face as she seen them. She did think they were cool and she did try to say butterfly each time she seen one.

And then later on in the day we took my newest grandson over to see my Dad. This little guy is my Dad's fifth great grandbaby and with Maddie's new little sis coming it'll be six. That's Allison showing my Dad Cameron. That girl looks too good for just having a baby! LOL

My Dad holding Cameron. He's always worried about holding tiny ones but he did fine.

Maddie came along to Great Gramps place and loved his magnets on the refrig. He has quite a collection from when my Mom and Dad used to travel. I think they had been to every state but a couple and my Mom used to buy a magnet everywhere she went and of course whenever any of my sisters and brother went away we would pick her up one also. Anyway, it was a full and fun day.

Also if you could keep little Cameron and my daughter Melissa in your prayers, I would appreciate it. Cameron is still having trouble with his acid reflux and he has alot of trouble keeping down his food. He is being breast fed and it looks like he spits up about an ounce or so of what goes in him each time. It's alot of breast milk coming back up. He's going to the doctor's on Monday for his one month check up so hopefully they can get some answers. Allison and Jimmy do not want him on medication anymore and it may be he'll need to outgrow this, but he is so uncomfortable when this happens.

And Melissa is having such a hard time with her gallbladder with this pregnancy and trying to take care of a toddler. She's in alot of pain and it hurts her so bad sometimes she says it's hard to just do her everyday things. I've been there with gallbladder issues(they took mine out) so I know how painful it can be. They think it's pregnancy related but they can do nothing until after the baby is born in four weeks and then it might correct itself but it's hard for her to sleep and take care of Maddie. She really wants to spend some quality time with Maddie before the new baby comes and this is such a distraction. Anyway thanks for the prayers, my bloggy buddies are always ready to pray if needed and I do so appreciate it. Have a great Wednesday!

I love the pictures. Wish we could have come to meet Cameron but I think the soup kitchen was good for the girls to go too. Great Gramps can't stop talking about Cameron - he just loved the little guy.

Good morning Joan, I hopped over here from my mom's blog. Donna @ Made in Heaven.

Anyway, I went through the exact same thing your daughter is going through now with the gallbladder and IT IS pregnancy related.

I think it was the last 2 or 3 months of my pregnancy with my son when I started having SEVERE back and belly pains. I thought I was going into labor or something. Never feeling pain that extreme I rushed to the ER. They didn't know what was wrong and sent me home with muscle relaxers. I took one and even though I was "relaxed" it did NOTHING for the pain.

Anyway, long story short it was my gallbladder and the episodes I would have would last anywhere between 8-12 hours at a time. The dodctors told me to cut out as much fat as possible out of my diet. The fat content in food is what was signaling the stones to pass. I can't remember all the medical lingo they used but I did exactly what they said. The last month of my pregnancy I was only eating oatmeal with butter substitute and sugar and wheat bread sandwiches with turkey, just a TAD of Mayo and a slice of american cheese. I drank nothing but water as well. After I switched my eating habits the pain episodes went away. A week after I gave birth they took out the gallbladder. They waited only because I'd had a c-section.

So, just tell your daughter to cut back as much as possible on her fat content and she should be fine until they can take it out. Hope this helps!!

I'll be praying for Melissa. And I wouldn't worry about the baby spitting up unless he is losing weight. As long as he keeps gaining weight, he should be getting enough.

The Butterfly show looked like fun. We used to live about 90 miles from a butterfly place but it was more than we could afford (that was before Dave Ramsey days)

Hi Donna,

Don't mind at all. I've been over to visit Crystal before but for some reason have never left a comment. She sounds like a sweetie and Melissa just got home from the doctor and they said she's just going to have to hang in there for a few more weeks and to watch her fat intake. This too shall pass is what I tell her.
