Celebrating Our 31st Wedding Anniversary

My sweet husband Mike and I at our daughter Melissa's wedding in 2004.

My little blog is celebrating today. Today is our 31st wedding anniversary so my blog is filled with mushy stuff today. But hey come on life's too short so let's all celebrate. As you can see we were very young when we got married in 1976 and I often tell my sweetie that it is by the grace of God that we are here today and I mean that. Anyway hope you all enjoy the decorations (check out the bottom banner too) and my trip down memory lane. I love you sweetie and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. You are my best friend and best father and grandfather.

On our wedding day, November 5th, 1976. We look so young!

Isn't it funny how different wedding dresses are now? Mine actually had sheer sleeves and I loved my headpiece, it reminded me of something Juliet would have wore in Romeo and Juliet.

Okay, this is a bold move on my part. It's to prove to myself I once could wear a bikini. My sweetie took this picture on our honeymoon in Ft. Lauderdale in 1976. It might have been the last time I ever wore a bikini. I was only 20 years old in this picture. Between stretch marks from having babies and various scars from surgeries, you will never see me in one again. Check out those JLo sunglasses. LOL

To my sweetheart:
As I publicly proclaimed 31 years ago just how much I love you, I now have a forum to do so again. God has brought us together and through Him our love keeps us together. You have loved me unconditionaly as I have loved you. Each day my love deepens for you. As long as I am alive I will be by your side. I could not be any happier with my life. I truly am honored to be your husband.

For this day for you I hope is perfect.

I love you,

Mike

HOW SWEET IS THAT????? You both are so very lucky and I wish you 31+ more years together. Happy Anniversary!!

Love,

Happy Anniversary Joan and Mike!! What a sweet post Joan and a sweet comment from Mike! The photos were fun to see. I especially loved the first one...I think your hair looked good that length. I think you mentioned recently that you might cut it. If so, that's a really cute cut for you.

Hugs!

What a sweet comment from your hubby! He's a keeper!

My hubby took me on a ski trip for our honeymoon. I tease him now about how backwards that seems. Most guys take their new wives to places where they will see her in a bikini - mine took me someplace where I had to wear layers and layers and layers of clothing!

Happy Anniversary to the two of you. Such a wonderful love letter from your husband. You were as young as we were getting married. I was 20 and Hubby was 22. I wouldn't trade any of it either, even the difficult parts. I think they make the love grow stronger. It will be 44 years for us in January. I can hardly believe that number...
Great pictures and the banner at the bottom is super.

Happy Anniversary to my favorite aunt and uncle! Both of your posts brought tears to my eyes. I can't imagine two people better suited for each other. I wish you many years of happiness to come.

PS: Aunt Joan, you look HOT in a bikini! (And oh yeah, I can't believe you were *my age* when you got married!)

Love you both!

My honeymoon was the last time I wore a bikini also! I had a dream last night that my husband and I were at a fancy hotel and there was an argument in progress in the lobby. One elderly woman said to who I thought was her daughter, "You're getting FAT! And that's what husband's don't like!!" In my dream, my husband put his hand on my waist and quietly said to me, "I love you more now than I did 20 pounds ago." I knew that he meant it and even woke up with a warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that he loves me even though I don't wear bikini's anymore! Blessings.. Polly
