Finally!

Okay gals, I am so sorry I haven't acknowledged a couple of giveaways I have won in the past month. My Mama didn't raise me without manners so I have no excuse other then life got kind of busy. So I won these two beautiful handmade items(I love handmade). This first one is a beautiful flower paperweight that Sandy from I love to dream, live to create and hope to inspire made. She is such a talented artist and one of my blogging buddies who I have been following for a long time. I love seeing her work and her students work. Thanks Sandy it looks great on my desk. And the next item is from Jeanette from Net on the Net. I met Jeanette through Brenda's Photo Challenge and I won one of her handmade bookmarks. This photo is not doing it justice, it is so pretty and since reading has always been one of my passions it has come in handy. I read alot and didn't have a bookmark, I just used anything to mark my pages. I love them both and thank you very much.

I also just want to thank my bloggy friends for visiting me and just being good buddies. I had no idea when I started this blog what a positive thing it would be for me. I consider you guys friends even though we have never met in "real" life. I know that so many of you would be my prayer warriors if I asked you to be and I just appreciate your encouragement and friendship and someday I hope to meet you in the "real" world. Been thinking about this alot lately and just wanted you all to know it.

So I've been planting flowers and putting down mulch this week. The flowers don't look like much right now but will after I give them some Miracle Grow. And Maddie came over to help Gommy plant flowers last night, she mostly just dug in the dirt and would say "I help Gommy plant flowers". She suddenly stopped working in the yard and went in the house and started playing on my laptop. This was her face when I asked her if she was done helping Gommy for the evening! :-) I know this is such a busy and wonderful time of year(it's that way for me too) so I am still trying to "catch" up. Just wish I had more hours in a day! Have a good Thursday!

P.S. I still am not over my obsession with Picnik's collages. LOL I want to collage every picture I take. I must stop.........................

I've been walking alot at my beautiful park on the Ohio River lately in an effort to get my triglycerides down when I am tested again in two months. The doctor said that walking is the one the best ways to get it down. So here are some photos as I go about my morning walks. It feels like Fall every morning when I go for my walk. Our leaves are not as colorful as usual but this park is a wonderful place to walk and I am so grateful that it is just a few minutes from my home. That's it for me tonight, I am off to watch the debate and to also flip the channel to HGTV and watch Cindy from My Romantic Home on Rate My Space tonight. Have a good one!

Please Stand By While We Fix Our Technical Difficulties

Okay the last two days have been plagued with techno issues around my house. First off our home phones are not working. So I called the telephone company from my cell phone and the girl says "let me check on that for you" and she comes back on the line and says "Yes I see there is something wrong with your line". HELLO?? Okay I say what can be done to fix it? So she tells me I need to go to the back of my house and open some box with a flat head screwdriver (a what?) and check it out there. And if that's not working they'll send a technician and charge me $30.00 something dollars to figure it out. So I go out back and the little box has a lock on it that looks about a hundred years old (slight exaggeration). So I have to call them back and have the techno guy come and fix it. Flat head screwdriver----hahahaha.....
And then I go to write some letters for work and my word is missing from my computer. Can't find it anywhere. I'm beginning to think it's me and not the machines. And then this morning I went to copy all of the names for the giveaway to put in a bowl and my printer decided it didn't want to print anything at all. So this is what I did. I wrote everyone's name down and put it in a bowl and picked from there. Sometimes the old fashion way still works the best. So I had my trusty friend, Mr. Gorilla do the picking of the name. I wanted Maddie(my granddaughter) to come over and do it but Mommy(my daughter who's pregnant) isn't feeling great this morning. So Mr. Gorilla who's the lucky winner? And the winner is: Maria from Me at this moment . Maria is a new blogging friend, she's a teacher from California who's studying for her Masters. Congrats Maria. It's been so much fun getting to know you and all of my blogging friends. Thanks again for being so welcoming and kind. Today on my giving thanks list, I am giving thanks for all of my blogging friends who I feel I have been blessed with. I'll be e-mailing you Maria. And now back to the techno problems that need to be taken care of. Flat head screwdriver................hahahaha...............

Hey Ya'all, look at what my BFF sent me and guess what? I have an extra one and it's signed by my BFF . We're really tight ya know? So I'm giving my extra one away, if anyone wants it just leave me a comment on this post and I'll pick a name on Tuesday, November 13th. I told you I love to collect cookbooks but I really am not the worlds greatest cook but I looked all through this book and it has some great recipes in it. I am using it for our Christmas Day open house because last year we had an Italian Christmas theme and this year we are having a Southern Christmas theme. I had wanted to do a giveaway for my 100th post but who would have thought I would have reached that number so fast. She not only has recipes in the book but stories from her favorite holidays. Now I have to figure out how to work that random.org or just pick names from a hat. LOL It's just a little thing because you all have become a part of my world and have been so kind.
