Going to the Amish Country

We are off to the Amish Country this weekend. I've never been to the Amish Country and it's really not that far from where we live so I am excited to see it. All of my sisters and their families and my Dad are coming so you know I'll have lots of photos to share. Maddie is driving up north with Papa and I and Mommy and Daddy and Baby Sydney will follow later in the day. I also hope to hike the trails where we are staying. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will have a great time with family and of course lots of good food. I am not bringing my laptop but I have my photos all schedule to be posted for Brenda's Photo Challenge. I'll catch up with everyone on Monday! Have a great weekend! Here's a few photos of where we are going. Ohio is beautiful, you should come and visit.

I agree that Ohio is gorgeous! We visited Amish country in Ohio back about 20 years ago and remember it fondly. Have a terrific time!

Have a great trip! You will have to revive "travel tuesday" for the trip!

I actually live in/next door one of the many "Amish countries". I see Amish all the time at the grocery store. And what always strikes me as strange is how much processed foods they buy. I would think they would be buying more staple/natural/ingredient type foods. No, I often see Stouffers frozen dinners, Fruity Pebbles, cookies, twinkies, soda pop! Am I the only one? Doesn't this seem weird? Or maybe it is just our Amish.

Have fun!!!

We used to go to Amish Country for vacations when we lived in Cleveland and I remember how awed we felt at these people and how they got on very well without what we felt we couldn't live without!
Have a great time and takes lots of pics, Joan!

I am SO envious! I've always wanted to visit PA and other states that have large Amish settlements. Their way of life amazes me. There's a small settlement up in Missouri near Springfield where my sister lives and I love watching for their carriages when we drive through there. I'll be looking forward to seeing the photos from your trip!
