BRENDA'S PHOTO CHALLENGE ~ OLD ~

Today's Photo Challenge is "OLD" and Donna from Made in Heaven is our hostess. Thanks Donna, this was a challenging one and I had to go back into my treasure chest of "old" photos for the challenge. All of my photos are from our cruise around Italy a couple of years ago. There's lots of "OLD" in Italy. This was fun as always and I can't wait to see everyone's photos. Go here to see who's playing this time.

The Coliseum in Rome or the Colosseum as the Romans call it. I was so jet lagged when I went through this but I remember every detail and it was totally fascinating and one of those moments in life when I said to myself "I can't believe I am standing here". I had to post two photos of it because it's worthy of having two posted.
This next photo is of Pompeii, equally as fascinating as the Coliseum and so very old. Again I could not believe I was standing in the middle of this ancient city that had been buried.
And last but not least is one of my very favorite cities that we visited while we were in Italy, Venice. Beautiful and romantic, I loved every minute we were docked here. Everything's old in Europe and when you are there, you realize what a young country we are compare to them. Hope you enjoyed my "OLD". I am in the Amish Country this weekend so I won't be around to see everyone's photo's until I get back. Have a great weekend!

Yes, the Colosseum are really old!
I have been there too. Not inside there, but I have been in Rome, actually.
An exiting city!
Very good pictures!

Oh, your pictures make me want to go to Italy soooo badly! You are right about how much "old" there is in Europe. I remember a lad in Ireland told us that American kids have it easy when it comes to studying history, LOL!

Your pictures are beautiful, as always!

What lovely pictures of Italy! I love Italy very much, too, and have some beautiful memories.
And Venice is only a night in the train away and I hope to get there soon again...
Have a nice weekend!

Great choice! I've always assumed that the reason I feel so passionately about Italy is due to my love of contrast - Italy is that, the old and the new blend beautifully.

P.S.
Yeah, John needs to get a life or a wife or something. :)

Hi Joan :)

I haven't been to Europe yet, but I hope to one day. I can only imagine the feeling of standing in the midst of all the ruins. Beautiful pictures!

I wish we could really vote for the president that way ;)

Have fun in Amish country!!

Now that's old! Great shots and thanks for your comments. Don't you love reading the stones in cemetaries? The real old ones have such interesting art too.
