Knitting Blues!

Okay, so I took a beginners knitting lesson last night and I stink at it. No ,I'm not being overly critical of my ability, no I really stink. There were just two of us in the class so the teacher could really give us one on one lessons. And the other lady in the class just took to it like she had been doing it all her life. She did tell me she had done some knitting when she was a girl. But I had the hardest time with my hands and trying to remember the number of stitches. It kind of felt like I was trying to use chopsticks. In my defense I had a killer headache so it was really hard to concentrate and we were in the teachers dining room at our local high school and all of these people came in and started a PTA meeting right in back of me. I am going to practice today and everyday (if I remember the steps). Slip knot, knit, purl...... I think..... LOL Okay, I'm off to get my toes nice and pretty, that is one thing I do well. :-)

HI! I knit & crochet & I think once you get the hang of it crochet is better, it's more forgiving if you mess up. Keep trying & I'm sure you'll get it.
Knitting & crocheting can be great stress releivers ......we all could use more of that.

Dont give up! Almost everyone thinks it feels completely awkward and weird at first - just knit every day, at least ten minutes, and you'll be amazed how much you improve in a week or so. Promise!

I learned to knit & crochet from watching my grandma by sitting in front of her. I'm left handed & did everything backward but I finally got. Keep trying..

Knitting is one thing I've never tried, but I have friends who absolutely love it. I have an addictive personality so once I get started on something, I plunge right in and it takes over my life. LOL Many years ago I used to do cross-stitching. Oh the hours and hours I would do it! I never knew when to stop. LOL Now it's blogging. And you KNOW how this is.

Good luck.

Hugs!

Keep trying - you'll catch on. It's not easy to learn, but once you learn it - it's a breeze! Have fun - see you soon Joan - Kellan

Start with something small and pretty colors. It won't be long before you get hooked.

You didn't start off with ideal conditions and with the headache I'm surprised you even bothered!!! It does get much easier with practice, honest.

I keep meaning to take a knitting class, but haven't yet. I used to crochet, which is relaxing too! There's actually a knitting store in town...maybe I'll check it out today? The sun is shining, yay!

I have been knitting since I was in fourth grade but I don't do anything fancy. However, I did try crocheting and I felt like I was all thumbs. I think it's because with knitting you use two needles and with crocheting you only use one and I always felt like something was missing. Anyway, don't give up, it is fun and you will get the hang of it.
