I'm back and an Award and Two Tags!

Hi everyone! We made it back from Florida and it is so nice to be back home and in your own home surrounded by your own things. I love going away but there is something so nice about coming back to your home. I'll share more of our trip later on in the week, especially how much fun we had with our little granddaughter, Maddie but first I wanted to acknowledge this great award that I received when I was gone from both Irene from Our Piece of the World and from Kellan at On the Upside. I LOVE this award and thank you both so much. I know I have sent you guys over to both of their blogs before but if you haven't done it yet please take some time and visit them. Kellan is a gifted writer who makes me laugh when I visit her blog and Irene's blog is one that I've been visiting for a while and I just love reading about her three little girls and also seeing how good she is becoming with her camera. Thanks girls, I really appreciate this. And since I've been out of the loop for the past few days and I don't know who has already received this, I am passing this on to all my blogging friends because you all spread the love. And Fran from Frannycakes (I love her blog's name) has tagged me to tell how I met my sweetie. We met when we were both 16 years old. My girlfriends and I went to a party at a friends house whose parents were out of town, well the parents called the house and figured out there was a party going on so we all had to leave. So what did we do? We invited ourselves to the party across the street, which happened to be my sweetie's house. His brother Kevin was having a high school graduation party. And that is how we met and the funny thing is, that was in 1972 and by 1978 we were living in that same house and we lived there for 10 years. Below is a photo of the two of us in 1972.
Okay and I don't want to foget that Donna from Made in Heaven has tagged me to name five things about me. Now I am trying to think of a few different things but the mind is a bit foggy today. LOL
1)My sweetie and I and our best buddies Mike and Vickie took dancing lessons a few years ago. This was before all the Dancing with the Stars shows so I liked to think we were ahead of our time. We took lessons for about two months, lots of swing and ballroom dancing. It really was fun.

2)My sweetie and I also took cooking lessons. It was a cooking class that was all about soups and at one of the classes we made a lobster bisque with live lobsters. Our group had to hit the live lobsters on their head before we put them in boiling water and I remember the chef asking if I was okay with that (I must of had a weird expression on my face) I told him no, not really but I would let my sweetie and the other guy on our team do that part. That lobster bisque was so good.

3)I also love Jazzercise. I used to go to Jazzercise at least four times a week. I still miss those classes. I loved the music and everything about the classes. But when I hurt my back, I was afraid of hurting something. The doctor has never told me I couldn't go back, just that I would have to be careful.

4)I also used to make jewlery. Mostly necklaces and earrings. I never made anything fancy and it was pretty basic stuff but I made so much and gave alot away as gifts but there comes a point where you can only make and wear so much and now I have a jewelry box full of things I have made and don't wear very much. LOL But it is a fun hobby.

5)And tonight is my first knitting class. YEA! Someone else signed up for the class. So I have my knitting needles and yarn (that I have had since October) and I am going to learn the basics of knitting. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. Also, has anyone else been having any problems with their spell check on blogger? Mine just doesn't seem to work and I depend on my spell check. :-) It's raining pretty hard in Cincy today but the weather is warmer then it normally is this time of year. Have a good Tuesday and I will be back doing Travel Tuesday next week! I just took a short break from Travel Tuesday with going away.
