Hurricanes, Wrong Planes and Lost Luggage

We (my two daughters & two granddaughters) are in Hilton Head. We had a crazy day yesterday trying to decide what Hanna was going to do and if we should wait to leave for Hilton Head but my brother in law (who lives here) told us to come on down. So this morning we go to the airport with two babies and three adults and all the stuff you need for little ones. It was hectic and we finally made it to the gate where our plane was to take off. Delta is doing some regrouping in Cincinnati so they had two planes going out of the same gate and we got on the wrong plane. LOL See the above photo, that was taken from the wrong plane that was going to South Bend, Indiana and the plane to Savannah(which we should have been on) is the one you can see right next to it. We had no idea until the pilot came on and said they were going to South Bend. I get up from my seat and yell to the cabin steward "we're on the wrong plane." My daughter Christina grabs Maddie, I grabbed our stuff and Melissa handed me Sydney. Both planes were taking off at the same time so we had to hustle to get to the plane next door. We were all so stressed by the time we got in our seats but when we were in the air I just started to laugh. And then I started to worry that we left something on the other plane but everything was fine. Until................
We got to Savannah. The girls did great on the plane but when we landed in Savannah my luggage was not there. It was still in Cincinnati so Christina and I had to make a trip back to the airport tonight to pick up my luggage which came in on a later flight. So it was crazy and we are all tired. Little Maddie is sound asleep in Grandma's bed tonight. Here's a few photos of our day.
Maddie decided that she should ride in the luggage cart. She did not want to get off of it. LOL
Here's the view from our balcony. I'm not sure where Hanna is suppose to land at this point but it was beautiful on the beach today.
My two sweet girls.
Sydney's first look at the ocean with her Mommy. She was not crazy about the wind and sun in her face. Maddie has been here before but she was so excited to see the ocean. She just looked at it and said "oh wow" I feel the same way baby girl. That's Maddie and Aunt Christina in the photo below. So it's girl power until the boys show up. LOL We'll have fun even if it will be wet at times. I'm just so grateful to be here and to have this time with my family. Take care and I'll be around to visit soon.

Hi Joan, Glad everything worked out. June told me about the luggage and glad it came later that night. You'll have a great time regardless of what Hanna does. I love that condo and the view is wonderful. Enjoy! Judy

Oh my! I have been watching the weather and wondering if HHI would actually get hit. Hasn't it been since the 1800's that they have had a hurricane? Looks good so far. I think it is going to go north of you.

What a crazy trip down! I probably would have been in tears after all that! But at least you made it safe and sound. And the weather looks perfect right now!

What a great time for you and your girls! Two of my kids and grandchildren live in Pawleys Island, SC. They said Hannah was not much of a big deal at all. Thank, God!
