See Ya Later Alligator!
My sweetie and I are getting ready for our annual visit to his Mom's in Naples, Florida in a few weeks and we were talking the other day about the year when the alligator came across the berm where we were taking a walk while we were visiting her. He just came out of the water on one side of the berm and went into the water on the other side. We were actually closer than it looks in the photo. I, of course had my camera with me so I handed it off to my sweetie and jumped on the tram that was coming down the berm. Sometimes it pays to have that camera with you at all times. LOL Have a great Thursday! I am off to the coffeehouse to have coffee with all my girls.

Love the gator pic!
LOL! You're like me...I always have my camera with me. There's a Kodak moment everywhere you look. Great photo. Enjoy your coffee with the girls.
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

That's so scary!... but don't you have to agree that Naples is an amazing place to live??? I just love it, and that path, so green and beautiful--regarless the beast! (lol).
Have a lovely vacation, and enjoy Naples!

You be careful!!! lol Cameras are a "must" these days!!
Coffee was fun this morning!
Remember that three legged aligator that lived in the swamp by the condo? Wasn't his name Izod or something?
My best friend Rosie is heading to Florida to visit her mom in the next few weeks too. Ya'll lucky dogs, I wish I could go!!
I was in Florida once but not down where the gators are...I would have probably took off runnin'!!
!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh! It is a dream of mine to see an alligator on vacation! This is AWESOME!
It cracks me up that you passed off the camera to the hubby and jumped to safety. Hehe!
Oooh errr, I guess it's an inspiration (motivation) for those out for a morning jog. Thinks sprinting at wild pace....
Hi Joan, we had a place in Fla for 3 years on a small inland lake & there was a small alligator that like to sunbathe on our dock.. They are fun to see but only from a distance...
You have an award from me...come and see...
well, now you should have jumped on your sweetie and took the picture from that advantage! Luckily you had the presence of mind not to jump in the water, lol...tagged you over at my place, come see!
hugs
Sandi
How exciting to see the alligator so close! Hope you have a great trip to Florida. :)
Joan,
I too ALWAYS have my camera with me...you just NEVER know what God might bring into your path that day and I want to make sure that I am ready!
It is so nice to meet you! Thanks for taking some time to come over to Mel's World for a visit.
That's so cool that you are also a travel agent...I just started my own travel agency 3 1/2 months ago. It is so amazing and I totally love it! PLUS, it allows me to do my ministry in new and exciting ways!
LOL...you are the best...we had to leave a comment after seeing that picture!

It just seems wrong seeing these animals wondering around - doesn't it? We have a friend that has a ranch south of where we live that we go visit on occasion and they have a pond (tank) on this ranch that has 3 alligators in it - eeeek! Have a great weekend Joan - see you soon. Kellan
Well its nice to meet you joan : ) Thank you for stopping by my blog!
I too love Paula Dean...
Wish I had found your blog earlier today beofre my trip to the library...I havent read good book since before c-mas and I was desperate for something. Will have to keep your books you recommend in mind.
Hey, Joan, what a scary pic. I've been up close & personal a couple of times with those critters at Hilton Head Island. They are pretty tame around there.
Oh, I just heard about the Bucket movie today from a friend, so I'll have to put that one on the list to see.
xo,
Rhoda
I'm afraid that I would see that alligator much later!!!!!
Hi Joan, camera at the ready is a must these days, there is always something strange lurking around but this takes the first prize, an alligator?? Yikes, some people think we have kangaroos in our city! lol but this is amazing!! We would be out of there in a flash! Jenn and Jacqui
