Happy Birthday Gail!

Happy Birthday Gail! Gail is another one of my little sisters. Okay I have no older sisters only younger ones. LOL But I like to tease them and say I am the youngest. The top photo is of Gail and her son Andrew last Easter and the bottom one is Gail and her husband Dan when they went to Australia a few years ago. Hope you have a great day Gail! Aren't we all going out to dinner to celebrate all of these birthdays soon? :-)

Casually seize the day

I love this photo and the caption with it and I love Golden Retrievers. We had a Golden named Claire years ago and she was just the best dog. Just looking at this pup puts a smile on your face. Have a great weekend and don't forget to casually seize the day.

Lost Men and Lost the Show

Okay so the men aren't really lost in these photos, they just look lost. Why do they look lost and why did I take a photo of them? Because they cracked me up. The men in the photos above and below are actually waiting for their sweeties while they are shopping at a store in Naples, Fla. called The Best of Everything (you gotta love that name) and this is the way it goes everyday at The Best of Everything. The women are inside of this store for hours and the men patiently wait outside for them. It is a big store and I couldn't find a link for it on the internet. When we go we hit it at least once during our visit to Naples. It is a store filled with jewelry, mostly costume and purses and scarves etc.... All the things ladies love. I didn't see a sign that said "no men allowed" but the men just naturally go to their places outside in the chairs. Do they look totally bored or what? LOL Click on the photos so you can get a bigger view of their faces.
Maddie decided she would join the group of men while Great Grandma(my mil), Grandma(me) and Mommy(my daughter) shopped. I scored a sterling cuff bracelet there. Anyway Gramps was so patient while we went shopping, he played with Maddie at every store we went to.
And this is totally changing the subject but I just can't believe I have not mention the new Lost season yet. First of all it seems like I waited forever for it to come back on. Oh yea I did wait for months for these eight new shows. LOL Well, it was worth the wait. I know that Lost "lost" alot of people with it's plots and turns and not explaining a few of the mysteries but I am still a fan of the show. I love how they have now gone in the "future" instead of the past. I have no idea of where they are headed with this new plot but it's entertaining and you can be sure I'll be watching. If you have never watched Lost go out and rent the first season, the pilot episode is one of the best. Also, I MISS SPELL CHECK on blogger. I NEED spell check. :-) Hope you have a great Friday!

Happy Birthday June

Happy Birthday to my little sister June. She's exactly ten years younger than me so I used to take her around the neighborhood like she was my own personal little doll (only she was real) LOL Anyway June you lucked out because Mike (my sweetie) made me box up all of my old photos, which had some really good shots of when you were little. So I have no embarrassing kid photos to show everyone today. Just wait until next year when I get them all back out. Some things never change with siblings. :-)
So here's a photo of June with Bobby Deen (Paula's son) last summer. Always rubbing elbows with the rich and famous, aren't you? Happy Birthday little sis! Hope you have a good one.

Knitting Blues!

Okay, so I took a beginners knitting lesson last night and I stink at it. No ,I'm not being overly critical of my ability, no I really stink. There were just two of us in the class so the teacher could really give us one on one lessons. And the other lady in the class just took to it like she had been doing it all her life. She did tell me she had done some knitting when she was a girl. But I had the hardest time with my hands and trying to remember the number of stitches. It kind of felt like I was trying to use chopsticks. In my defense I had a killer headache so it was really hard to concentrate and we were in the teachers dining room at our local high school and all of these people came in and started a PTA meeting right in back of me. I am going to practice today and everyday (if I remember the steps). Slip knot, knit, purl...... I think..... LOL Okay, I'm off to get my toes nice and pretty, that is one thing I do well. :-)

I'm back and an Award and Two Tags!

Hi everyone! We made it back from Florida and it is so nice to be back home and in your own home surrounded by your own things. I love going away but there is something so nice about coming back to your home. I'll share more of our trip later on in the week, especially how much fun we had with our little granddaughter, Maddie but first I wanted to acknowledge this great award that I received when I was gone from both Irene from Our Piece of the World and from Kellan at On the Upside. I LOVE this award and thank you both so much. I know I have sent you guys over to both of their blogs before but if you haven't done it yet please take some time and visit them. Kellan is a gifted writer who makes me laugh when I visit her blog and Irene's blog is one that I've been visiting for a while and I just love reading about her three little girls and also seeing how good she is becoming with her camera. Thanks girls, I really appreciate this. And since I've been out of the loop for the past few days and I don't know who has already received this, I am passing this on to all my blogging friends because you all spread the love. And Fran from Frannycakes (I love her blog's name) has tagged me to tell how I met my sweetie. We met when we were both 16 years old. My girlfriends and I went to a party at a friends house whose parents were out of town, well the parents called the house and figured out there was a party going on so we all had to leave. So what did we do? We invited ourselves to the party across the street, which happened to be my sweetie's house. His brother Kevin was having a high school graduation party. And that is how we met and the funny thing is, that was in 1972 and by 1978 we were living in that same house and we lived there for 10 years. Below is a photo of the two of us in 1972.
Okay and I don't want to foget that Donna from Made in Heaven has tagged me to name five things about me. Now I am trying to think of a few different things but the mind is a bit foggy today. LOL
1)My sweetie and I and our best buddies Mike and Vickie took dancing lessons a few years ago. This was before all the Dancing with the Stars shows so I liked to think we were ahead of our time. We took lessons for about two months, lots of swing and ballroom dancing. It really was fun.

2)My sweetie and I also took cooking lessons. It was a cooking class that was all about soups and at one of the classes we made a lobster bisque with live lobsters. Our group had to hit the live lobsters on their head before we put them in boiling water and I remember the chef asking if I was okay with that (I must of had a weird expression on my face) I told him no, not really but I would let my sweetie and the other guy on our team do that part. That lobster bisque was so good.

3)I also love Jazzercise. I used to go to Jazzercise at least four times a week. I still miss those classes. I loved the music and everything about the classes. But when I hurt my back, I was afraid of hurting something. The doctor has never told me I couldn't go back, just that I would have to be careful.

4)I also used to make jewlery. Mostly necklaces and earrings. I never made anything fancy and it was pretty basic stuff but I made so much and gave alot away as gifts but there comes a point where you can only make and wear so much and now I have a jewelry box full of things I have made and don't wear very much. LOL But it is a fun hobby.

5)And tonight is my first knitting class. YEA! Someone else signed up for the class. So I have my knitting needles and yarn (that I have had since October) and I am going to learn the basics of knitting. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. Also, has anyone else been having any problems with their spell check on blogger? Mine just doesn't seem to work and I depend on my spell check. :-) It's raining pretty hard in Cincy today but the weather is warmer then it normally is this time of year. Have a good Tuesday and I will be back doing Travel Tuesday next week! I just took a short break from Travel Tuesday with going away.

Sunset on the Gulf

The internet here goes in and out so I'll be quick tonight. Just wanted to share a few photos of the sunset the other night. The sunsets on the Gulf are so pretty and the sun looks like it is sinking into the ocean when it sets. Hope you all are doing well and I can't wait to come and visit when I return.
