This is my poor little Japanese maple tree all covered in ice and snow. I really hope she doesn't lose any branches. We can hear big branches falling down all around the neighborhood. I took these photos from the safety of my front and back door. I have a healthy respect for ice ever since the time I went down in it and landed on my back looking up at the sky. Ice is bad and it scares me to death but I do hope to get out later on and get some more shots of everything but for now the front and back door will do just fine. :-)
All my pretty lawn items are covered. Can you see the tip of my Eiffel Tower peeking out?
My little lighthouse decoration is almost covered and only my snowman is smiling right now.
It's coming down pretty good and most everything is closed today. My sweetie is working from home today and is pacing like a caged animal but truthfully all my loved ones are safe and sound in their homes and we have lots of fresh coffee going and we also have lots of shows on DVR to catch up with. We got hooked on Burn Notice on the USA channel and have taped the old ones so we have lots to watch and I am reading a good book(A Time To Mend by Sally John and Gary Smalley, I highly recommend it). I am also going to work on some jewelry, so all is good. Sometimes I wonder if this is God's way of telling us to slow down and get off the merry go round and just appreciate all we have. Because for all of my weather whining, I am blessed with a warm home, lots of food, all the people I love safe and sound and so much more. So stay safe and warm and make lots of coffee, my cure for everything..........LOL

I hate ice!! I fell last year and busted my kneecap pretty good! Geez! It looks Freezing! Now I need a blanket!!hahaa...Stay in and stay warm sweetie!!hughugs
Joan, Great great photo's. I just love the snow but can sure do without all the ice/freezing rain/sleet we have been having!!
It is still snowing here. Doesn't look like it will slow up any.
Great pictures. It's so pretty through the windows and doors. lol I'm at work (on lunch break), but may leave early. Most of the non-essential employees have left. But since I work for a police department, they kinda think we're all essential, especially since I do payroll. However, it's finished & I've been given permission to leave. Fortunately my kids and hubby are all home safe. Looking forward to a fun, quiet evening at home. Hope you have a great day. Sounds like you plan to
Whoa - awesome pictures! I can't EVEN imagine how cold it is. Thankful, though, that you and yours are warm and safe!! (HUGS)
Ahhhh Fly me to your part of the world.
It looks magical,cold and fresh.
We have had a week of high heat 38-40 (100's for you guys)
And I am ready to self combust.
I hate the heat and especially such extream heat with three lil ones to entertain.
Where you are we could rug up and out we'd go for a play in the snow,snowmen,snowballs....Ohhhh It is my idea of heaven but I am a girl who seems to be one of very few who love the cold.
Hate windy weather but cold,rain,snow....So cosy!
Hi Joan--I love your pictures! I should have taken some here as well. The kids had a snow day (even I did from the university) due to the snow, ice and freezing rain. Tomorrow I will have to deal with the commute, but today I was able to stay inside, nice and cozy.
Your paradise and mine looks the same. YUCKY!!! I'm really looking forward to March 1st. Stay warm!
Your paraadise is sooooooooo different from mine, but it's lovely....as long as I could stay inside and just look out and enjoy. LOL
Stay warm and be safe. Ice scares me.
Hugs!
Kat

Sorry, It wasen`t ment to come tre times:)
It's beautiful up there! The majority of the southern ice storm missed us thank goodness, but the kids were out of school yesterday because of the little bit of ice and dusting of snow. We drank gallons of coffee too.
