Bloggy Goodies

Look what arrived on my doorstep this week! It's a lovely package of goodies from my buddy Shannon from New South Wales, Australia. Shannon has a great blog and I always love to visit her and see what she has been up too. She is also a talented artist and has her own website for her work. You can go here to check out all of her goodies. One day I am going to go across that big blue ocean and visit the land down under and I hope to have a drink with Shannon and her Mom, Coll . Hey, what's your favorite drink down under anyway? LOL Thanks Shannon, I love it. I am going to have to hide the kitty cat tags from Maddie because she'll go nuts when she sees them. Anyway, go by and say hi to Shannon and her Mom.
And I also ordered these cute little burp cloths from Barb at A Chelsea Morning. This photo does not do these cute little guys justice. Go to her site to see better photos of them. But honestly they are so cute and soft. My new grandson Cameron already has been using his Winnie the Pooh ones and the Pink Froggy ones are for my new baby granddaughter coming in 5 weeks. And since our friends Kevin and Sarah are having a little girl, I will probably be ordering some more pink froggy ones soon. Don't tell Kevin and Sarah. LOL Anyway if you are having a baby boom all around you like we are, go and check out Barb's site.

Not much else is going on today. We are suppose to have a beautiful Spring day today. I've been faithfully walking with my sister every morning this week. It was cold on Monday and Tuesday but I have a thermos cup of my favorite coffee waiting for me in my car when we are done so I have something to look forward too when we finished. It's the little things in life that make me happy, like a cup of hot coffee flavored with fat free vanilla coffemate. I better go and make my coffee now! Have a great Wednesday!

Travel Tuesday ~ Dinner in the Clouds ~ Europe and South Africa

Okay, so technically this is really not about one destination like I usually do for Travel Tuesday but this was so unique I couldn't pass it by without a mention. This is the ultimate in a dining experience offered by a company called Dinner in the Sky. They offer a six course meal served by a chef and three waiters on a platform suspended 160 feet above the ground by a crane. It looks to me like everyone is wearing some kind of seat belts but I'm not sure if that would make me feel okay about having a meal like this. I read in a magazine that for a seating of 22 it costs around $38,000 and that includes wine. It certainly is different and they do it in different areas of Europe and Dubai and South Africa. I'm not sure if I could do this. What do you think bloggers, if money was not an issue would you be game for this? I bet the view is fantastic. My sweetie has a good point though when I showed him this article. He said what happens if you need to use the restroom? My sweetie always likes to point out stuff like that. LOL Anyway, this is not technically a destination Travel Tuesday but more of something unique to do in certain destinations. Have a great Tuesday and hopefully I didn't give anyone any vertigo. :-) I told you it was out there...........or should I say up there?

Little Cameron and Grandma with the camera

WARNING!! PROUD GRANDMA ON THE LOOSE WITH A CAMERA POST AHEAD!!

Actually, it's not that bad. LOL We had a great weekend. We spent most of it with both of our grandchildren. We went to the Mall and bookstore with Maddie, who is so entertaining these days. Her newest thing is to say "cool" all the time. Like I gave her her cup of water and she looks at me and says cool, just as plain as day. It cracks me up every time. And then we went over to visit the newest little guy and his Mom and Dad and of course I had to take a few photos. Okay so it was more then just a few. :-) He's three weeks old and already has changed alot. Isn't he such a cutie??

Here he is with his Papa. Little Cameron is doing better with his acid reflux but he does tend to really spit up sometimes.

And here he is holding on to his Grandma's(me) finger. He had a nice little grip. I just thought this was such a cute photo, sound asleep in Papa's arms.
And look at these next two photos, I got a picture of him smiling.
Big smile for Grandma...........
And this last photo is of me holding him. He's looking straight at the camera.

I can't wait till the next grandbaby to come, which is 5 more weeks from now. Not that anyone is counting or anything. LOL Little Maddie is going to be a big sister. New little sis is going to make her arrival soon. Anyway, that's it for me on this Monday. Come back tomorrow if you have some time because I am doing a Travel Tuesday that is kind of out there, well it's more then kind of out there. It's really out there. heehee.........the suspense is killing you I know. Anyway, I'm not even sure it qualifies as a travel post but I am going to make it one. Have a great Monday!

The Great Candy Heist and Weekend Fun!

This is under the heading "What in the world were they thinking?" A group of thieves were caught in Cincy early Thursday after breaking into this candy store. How did they catch them? They followed the candy wrappers. The thieves threw the wrappers on ground as they made their getaway on foot. The owner of the 103 year old family business said police called her around 1:30am and told her the store had been broken into and the thieves took every kind of candy imaginable, reeces cups, skittles, twizzlers etc.... and that the police also said they couldn't leave the store because they were guarding the Swedish fish (true quote). Forget the Swedish fish, it's those dark chocolate M & M's I would be guarding. :-) Here's the sad part though, one of the thieves was a woman who had a 7 week old baby with her and they used the baby's stroller to put their stash of candy in. What in the world were they thinking????

Anyway, I am so glad it's the weekend. It's been great weather here in Cincy but I hear things are changing this weekend. We are going to see our new little grandson Cameron this weekend. They live about a half hour from us so I don't get see them as much as I liked too. So hopefully I'll get some more photos of the little guy. We are also going out with my granddaughter Maddie and her Mommy. Daddy is going out with the guys. We haven't been out much with Maddie because Melissa(my daughter) has a hard time picking her up(because of being 8 months pregnant) and so do I(because of a bad back) when she decides to do that thing that all toddlers do. All of you Moms know what I am talking about. I am talking about when a little one decides to go completely limp because they want something and you say no. When they do that a 25 pound child suddenly weighs 50 pounds. LOL So my sweetie is coming with us in case of any meltdowns. Have a great weekend!

HAPPY FEET!

Happy days are here again! I am back to wearing sandals so I stopped in TJ Maxx to try on a few and had some fun. The first pair were so cute. What's not to like about these? They are pink and sparkly and fun. They also hurt. See that pink round thing in the middle, imagine that digging into your foot each time you took a step. OUCH! But they were pretty to look at.

These were much more comfortable but the little flower petals kind of tickled the tops of your feet.

And I just tried these on for the bling bling factor. They were major bling and also major killers to walk in. I took three steps in these and said no way. I was just killing some time before an appointment but it was fun to try them on. Yes, my toes are freshly painted and my feet are happy to be in sandals again! What more could a girl want? LOL Oh and don't worry sweetie, I resisted the pretty sandals calling "Buy me Joan, I am so pretty on your feet." :-)

TRAVEL TUESDAY ~ MOLOKAI ~ HAWAII

This church was built by Father Damien. It is called Our Lady of Seven Sorows. Father Damien took care of the people who had leprosy here.

Okay, so where has Travel Tuesday been? Well, I have been kind of busy with grandbabies and life and well just things. So I have decided to do Travel Tuesday once or twice a month for awhile. It depends how busy I am and I have a feeling the next few month are going to be full but that's okay because it's a good fullness.

So let's learn more with this little island. You might not even have heard of this island in Hawaii. It is a relatively undeveloped island, and no building is taller then a coconut palm and there is only one single stoplight. There's no mall, no neon signs, no elevators and no burger places. At least that is what their website tells me. I have never been here and it definitely sounds like it has a rugged beauty about it. Inland is the Molokai Outfitters Ranch. You can do mountain biking, horseback riding, archery, clay shooting, ocean kayaking and hiking. Their website also tells me that a must do here is the Molokai Mule ride, which takes you down the world's highest cliffs and along a 2.9 mile trail. The world's highest cliffs huh? On a mule?? Might hurt the your bottom a little or freak you out from the heights. LOL They also say that life here is slow and relaxed, it's rural and peaceful and it's like stepping back in time 50 years. The island is 38 miles long and 10 miles wide. I really think it would be worth the trip just to see the largest sea cliffs in the world. There are only a handful of places to stay on this island, with the nicest one being inland at The Lodge at Molokai Ranch. It really looks secluded and peaceful, a place to really get away from everything. Just look at the photos, this place is gorgeous! I hope you enjoyed your visit to Molokai. I'm not sure if I'll ever make it to this island but I would like too. Not sure where I am going for the next Travel Tuesday yet, been throwing Australia around in my mind lately but since I have not been there either it might be to somewhere I am familiar with. Have a great Tuesday!

Having Fun At Grandma's

First you take a nap with Cleo. Cleo has her own throw to sleep on because she has likes to sleep on Grandma's cream couch and Grandma hates cleaning all that cat hair. :-)

Then it's time to play with sidewalk chalk on a beautiful Spring day. What more can a little girl ask for?
