I'm Back!!

I'm back from my girls weekend in Hilton Head. I had a great time with my friend Sherra this weekend. We went to see a fun movie(He's Just not that into You), went shopping, to art galleries and the beach. She would not let me take any photos of her but you can go here and see a photo of the both of us when we went on an Alaska cruise. LOL So here's just a few of my photos. I have lots to do today, grocery shop, some work and an appointment so I'll be around as soon as I can to visit and see everyone's Brenda's Photo Challenge photos! Hope everyone is doing well.

Reality...........

Two days ago I was rubbing elbows with the famous Snow White and Mickey Mouse. Snow is really quite stunning in person to see. :-)

I watched Mickey and Minnie taking their wedding vows. Well, not really.............

I sat in this beautiful park in Winter Park, Florida...............

I soaked up the bright sunshine of the 80 degree weather...............

I ate pasta at an outdoor cafe'.......................................

I ordered room service one morning while my sweetie was at his meeting..........................

But today.................

This is my reality. The snow has been coming down all night here in Cincinnati, this top photo is my pool area. There will be no swimming today and the bottom photo is my neighbor's back yard. They are talking about a snow and ice mix later on in the afternoon, so I am tucked safely in my home watching the snow fall and I will brave the cold and snow later on to take a few photos outside and make sure my bird friends have some food but in my mind I am still sitting in that park in Winter Park, Fla. with my sweetie soaking up the sun.

Thanks for everyone's sweet comments on my photos for Brenda's Photo Challenge. Donna from Cottage Days and Journeys has picked a new theme and date and the theme is textures and patterns and the date is February 7th. I'll be around to visit everyone soon and see their photos for the challenge but right now I think I am just going to pretend I am still in Florida and the sun is shining so bright and warm. I'll post some more photos of Winter Park later this week, it really is a cute town! Have a great day!

Home!

We are back home, safe and sound and grateful for this chance to go away and have fun with the little girls. Maddie kept asking about the beach all the way home. Since their Daddy works for an airline, these little girls are good little travelers. Maddie knows exactly what to do when she goes through security, she takes off her shoes and waits until the security person tells her to come through. And she loves flying on the airplane and does really well for a two year old. So today it's grocery shopping, laundry and finishing up my Christmas cards and catching up with my blog buddies. I've missed seeing what everyone is up to this busy time of year. Have a good day and here's a few photos I took of the girls before we left. Don't you love these little Santa hats? Coming Home

This is what I saw before we left Hilton Head yesterday morning. I got up and ran outside to watch the sun rise before we left for the airport to come home. It was well worth seeing. I am amazed everytime I watch it come up over the ocean. And then we came home...............






........to this. No electricity, no gas, no ice or cold foods in many areas of Cincinnati. Cincinnati was hit with the tail end of Ike. It has caused many problems in our area, we had winds over 70 miles an hour on Sunday. People were killed, mostly by falling trees. In the realm of things it is nothing compared to what our Texas friends are going through but we have had a little taste of what a devastating storm can do. We are one of the lucky ones who have power at our house but you can see that our local Kroger's did not have normal power and all the cold items were pulled from the shelves. I wanted some fresh veggies for dinner last night but there were none to be found and the gas situation was really bad. Our house did not have any damage that I can see. Lots of debris and a big branch in our swimming pool area. It knocked down part of the fence but the fence is coming down in a few weeks anyway. Good thing the pool was closed last week or the inside of it would have been really hard to clean. What amazed me was the giant trees that have been uprooted. Most of our schools have been off. My sweetie went back to work this morning but they are without normal power there too. So we'll be cleaning up as best as we can all week. Still it's good to be back home safe and sound and everyone is okay so you just deal with the rest of it. Hope everyone is well and I will be back around to visit soon.
