Savannah!!

Here's a few photos of our day in Savannah, Georgia. Savannah should be on everyone's list of places to see in this world. It is rich in history and just has alot of personality. We did go to The Lady and Sons(Paula Deen's place) restaurant and let's just say that The Lady and Son's is not Weight Watcher friendly. LOL So I was forced to eat southern, what a hardship. :-) I had a crabcake with all the southern side dishes and my daughter had talipia which was really, really good. As soon as you sit down they bring you these things called hoe cakes, which are like small pancakes and are really, really good....really.........They also bring you cheese garlic biscuits which are also really, really good. Maddie loved the hoe cakes and the servers at the Lady and Sons loved the girls. I was just so excited to finally get into the place and eat. It is usually very crowded and hard to get into to. So that made my day, finally getting to eat there with my favorites little girls. We had a fun little trip and we are heading home later on today. Here's a few photos of Savannah!

Can you see the rainbow in the fountain?

Here's a few of the steeples in Savannah!

This little cat was all curled up in a Christmas shop down in the river area. Between being in a Christmas shop and seeing this kitty in the sleigh, Maddie was in heaven. :-)

Maddie loved the river area and Grandma and Mommy loved the pecans that they have there with cinnamon sugar on them and all nice and warm.

Here's a few of the old buildings in the river area all decorated for the holidays.

This wooden sailboat was really cool.

Here's a few photos from Paula's place(my BFF). Can you see me with the girls(my real BFFs) on the corner?

And this last one of Mommy and Maddie eating hoe cakes and cheese biscuits. Have a great day and I'll catch up with everyone when I get back in Cincy!

Christmas Island Style!

There's a street here in Hilton Head called Dove Street and they know how to decorate for Christmas. Tonight we took the grandbabies to see all of the decorations and they loved every minute of it. Go here to learn more about this wonderful display of lights. I love how they wrap lights on the palm trees, it's so pretty. This is just down the street from where we are staying so we will walk back down tomorrow night. The people who live on this street are so friendly and really get into the spirit of Christmas. So it's been another fun filled day and we are all so tired. We went into Savannah and finally got to eat at Lady and Son's(Paula Deen's Restaurant). It was so good and so much fun and I'll try to post some photos of our time there but our internet service seems to go in and out here. I have wanted to eat here for the longest time but the wait is always so long but today we got right in. I couldn't eat like that everyday but it was good food. So here's a few photos of the beautiful lights on Dove Street.
If you are ever in this area around Christmas it is well worth the visit.

I should save some of these Christmas photos for Brenda's Photo Challenge this Saturday because the theme is holiday decorating.

These lights are draped above the street and in the tree tops, so everywhere you look there are lights on this little street!
These are the lights on the palm trees.

And here's a few photos of my grandbaby SAS (aka Sydney Ann) on the beach and all worn out in Savannah. We got this little hoodie for Sas because it was a little chilly.

So just like Sas in this photo, I am once again all worn out and ready for bed. LOL I will catch up with everyone soon!

On a Holiday!

My daughter and grandbabies(Maddie and Sydney) and I are on a short holiday in Hilton Head, South Carolina. We got here this afternoon and we are all pretty beat tonight. The island is decorated so pretty for Christmas and I'll share a few photos later on. We just have a few days to enjoy this time but we are having a good time. Maddie was so excited to see the beach again, she keeps saying "the peach, the peach". But she didn't quite understand that the water is too cold this time of year. LOL Here's a few photos of our day.
Maddie, Mommy and Sas walking on the beach.
Mommy and sweet Sas.

These last two photos were at the airports this morning. Maddie insisted on wheeling my little backpack on wheels. I've had this little backpack for years and it has gone everywhere with me. It carries all of my can't live without stuff, like my camera and makeup, medicine and my flat iron. LOL If I have those things I am okay wherever I go. This top photo is at the Savannah airport which by the way is the cutest little airport and so easy to get around.
And the last photo is of sweet little Sas before we got on the plane. Don't you just love her little hat? Anyway, I am so tired and am not sure if I am making sense right now so it's off to bed. Have a great week!

Winter Wonderland!

baby it's cold outside We had our first snow of the season here in Cincinnati today. It's beginning to look alot like Christmas around here. We didn't get a bunch of snow but enough to cover the ground. And it's cold. I mean bitterly cold and we are going downtown tonight to watch Santa rappel from a building. OUTSIDE, IN. THE. COLD..............But it should be fun, we are meeting our daughter, son-in-law and the two little munchkins. Have a good one and stay warm. I plan on hitting Starbucks for a nice hot cup of coffee after Santa rappels from the building. :-)

Decorating for Christmas!

i heart paris Here's a few of my favorite decorations for Christmas this year. This top photo is of some ornaments that I picked up from Target the other day. I knew I had to have them because of my love for travel. There's the Golden Gate Bridge, Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower and of course the globe. Maybe one day I'll have enough travel ornaments so I can have a travel tree. They are not really all that close together on my tree but I put them this way to fit in the photo.

sweet snowmen These next two photos are of some ornaments that I got from Celeste from La Rea Rose this year. I draped them on top of a mirror that's in my dining room. Are these not the cutest things? She hand paints them and I love the detail on them both. Look at how Santa has his eyes open on one mitten and closed on another. They are so pretty and look great in my dining room.
the big guy And last but not least is my little kitty Cleo hanging out under the Christmas tree. She waits for me to water it so she can go get a drink. I don't get it, she has two bowls of fresh water and she goes for the dirty tree water. You gotta love cats even when you don't get them. :-)

The new theme for Brenda's Photo Challenge is HOLIDAY DECORATIONS and I know everyone loves to take photos of holiday decorations so if you have never played, this is a fun and easy one to do. The next challenge is on December 13th and it's always alot of fun to see everyone's photos! Just go here and tell Donna you are playing!

Happy Christmas decorating and Happy Friday!

cleo quit drinking that water

Your blogs are fabulous! Thanks again Kat!

So I told you how I've been going through boxes of photos this week. Actually I am going from one project to the other like a crazy person. I do some photos, then I make some jewelry, then I address some Christmas cards and then I do my travel work also. Crazy, I wish I had a huge bathtub to soak in and just relax. But anyway back to the photos. Look at the cute photos I found. This first photo is of our firstborn Melissa(AKA as Sas and Buttons Mom). This was Melissa's very first Christmas some 30 years ago. What really gets me about this photo and no it's not that lovely shag carpet in our old home or that beautiful state of the art TV that had three or four channels. LOL No it's that she looks so much like her two little girls it's almost scary. If you don't believe me, go here and see the girls and then come back here and tell me you agree with me. LOL I like it when people agree with me. :-)
do you like my camel Here's one more photo that I found while going through them all. This one is of all three of our kids. I have no idea when this was because I didn't mark the date on it, but I thought it was a cute one. And now are you ready for some of the cutest photos ever??? LOL Keep going........
my mom gave us all bowl haircutsHere's little Cameron in his first visit with Santa. We took all of the grandkids to see Santa and Cameron was the only one who thought he was great. Maddie likes him but only if he is far away and not talking to her. LOL And I think Sas was sound asleep so we had these photos taken of Cameron and Santa. I think they about the cutest photos ever. LOL

who are you looking at big guy
Okay, I guess I need to get back to work but I am beat tonight so maybe I'll put it off till tomorrow and just blog surf for the rest of the evening. See how easy I can talk myself out of working. LOL I think I just set a record for writing LOL in a post. Okay I am done now, LOL, LOL LOL. Have a good evening!

one of the cutest photos ever

The Rockettes!!

My girls and I went to see the Radio City Rockettes on Saturday. We had so much fun that we have decided to do this every year at Christmas. The look on Maddie's face as she watched the show was priceless, she literally did not move from her chair for an hour and a half. All of my photos of her sitting there were way too dark but here are a few. This was my first time to see the show and it's a fun show!

pretty little sasHere's Aunt TeeTee(Christina) and Sas. Even little Sas loved all of the lights and music.

twirling maddie Here's Maddie in her twirly Santa dress. She loves this little dress so much, we all ooh and aahh when she wears it and she twirls around in it and shows us how pretty it is.

silly grandma This is just Grandma(me) being silly. I tried to take a photo of Maddie and I in the reflection of the door but she decided to move and I must have forgot I had the flash on. LOL

three pretty gals Here's Christina(Aunt Tee Tee), Sas and Mommy(Melissa).

they had live animals I loved the part of the show that told the Christmas story. They even had live animals. It was pretty cool.
this was one of my favorite parts of the show
The wooden soldiers were great. They had everything timed just perfect. It was pretty amazing.

if only i could do this
If only I could get my legs do this. LOL I wonder how many calories these gals burn off each show. It really was a wonderful show and I came away with great memories of little Maddie just sitting there so happy and excited to see it all. I hope everyone is having a great week. I am trying to get organized for Christmas but I somehow started working on a project cleaning out my old photos and putting them in boxes instead of just having them thrown anywhere. Now why I started this just a few weeks before Christmas is beyond me, but since they are spread out all across our pool table and I figure someone might actually want to play pool on Christmas day, I really need to finish it. My problem is I am finding photos from 30 years ago or more and I just have to stop and look at them. I'll probably share more of these old photos as I go through them. I have all these old Polaroid(do they even have polaroid cameras anymore??) ones which I want to scan in my computer. I guess I better get back to work on them today instead of playing on my computer. LOL Have a good one!!
